History of Six Flags Magic Mountain

Located in Valencia, California, about 35 miles north of downtown Los Angeles, Six Flags Magic Mountain is a sprawling amusement park that spans over 209 acres. This Six Flags park park first opened its doors on May 29, 1971, as a development of the Newhall Land and Farming Company and Sea World Inc. In 1979, Six Flags acquired the park, adding the "Six Flags" prefix to the park's name.
